Plain White T’s is an American pop rock band, currently consisting of Tom Higgenson on vocals and acoustic guitar, Tim Lopez on lead guitar, Dave Tirio on rhythm guitar, Mike Retondo on bass guitar and De’Mar Hamilton on drums and percussion.Formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1997, the group self-released their debut album Come on Over in 2000, which included the songs Skinny Dipping, Show Your Face and Rave. This led to a contract with Fearless Records and the group immediately began work on their second album Stop. Released on 20th August 2002, and despite the fact that the songs Shine and A Lonely September received some limited airplay, the album was not a critical or commercial success. However, all that changed with the release of their third album.
All That We Needed was released in January 2005 and was a surprise success. It reached the Top 40 on the Billboard Indie chart and produced the US and Canadian number one smash hit Hey There Delilah. This was named one of the Best Songs of 2007 by Time Magazine and has since been covered by a number of other notable contemporary artists, including The Sugababes, The Baseballs and Ju’not Joyner.
The group’s next studio album Every Second Counts was released in September 2006. It was their first album to chart imide the Top 10 of the US Billboard 200, and it also reached the Top 5 in the UK Albums Chart. Every Second Counts produced a number of hit singles, including Our Time Now – which was featured in the ABC show Greek - and Hate (I Really Don’t Like You).
The group’s latest album Big Bad World was released in September 2008 and has produced the singles Natural Disaster and 1, 2, 3, 4 to date. The group are currently working on their sixth studio album.
