The Black Eyed Peas are an American pop, dance and hip hop group from Los Angeles, California, consisting of the vocalists Fergie (formerly Kim Hill), Apl.De.Ap and Taboo as well as the multi-instrumentalist Will.I.Am. They have sold 76 million records around the world to date.The group first began to take shape in 1988, when Will.I.Am and Apl.De.Ap met in high school and began performing raps together, and they were joined by Taboo and Kim Hill in 1995. After signing to Interscope Records, the foursome released their debut album Behind the Front in June 1998 – which produced the singles Joints & Jam, Karma, Fallin’ Up and ¿Qué Dices? This was soon followed by 2000’s Bridging the Gap and the singles BEP Empire, Weekends and Request + Line (ft. Macy Gray). However, it would be their third studio album that would bring The Black Eyed Peas into the mainstream.
Elephunk was released in June 2000. It reached number fourteen on the US Billboard 200 and performed even better elsewhere, reaching number three in the UK, number two in Canada and number one in Australia – eventually selling over 8.5 million copies worldwide. The lead single Where Is the Love? (ft. Justin Timberlake) and the follow-up release Shut Up were both number one smash hits in over a dozen countries worldwide, while the follow up singles Hey Mama and Let’s Get It Started were both international Top 10 hits.
2005’s Monkey Business followed, which sold over ten million copies worldwide and included the huge hits Don’t Phunk With My Heart and Pump It, and then came 2009’s The E.N.D. (an acronym for Energy Never Dies). To date their fifth studio album has produced the US number one singles Boom Boom Pow and I Gotta Feeling – which topped the Hot 100 for an unprecedented 26 consecutive weeks between them – as well as their third album number one hit Imma Be.

Justin Timberlake is an American pop/dance/R&B singer-songwriter and musician.Born 31st January 1981 in Memphis, Tennessee, Timberlake first became known as a contestant on the television talent show Star Search, before joining the cast of The Mickey Mouse Club (along with other future stars like Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera) in 1993. Although the show ended in 1994, Timberlake swiftly approached his fellow cast member JC Chasez about forming an all-male boy band.
The band – later to be known ‘N Sync – was formed in by Timberlake and Chasez in 1995 and they soon recruited three more members: Lance Bass, Joey Fatone and Chris Kirkpatrick. The group released their self-titled debut album *NSYNC in 1998, which reached number two on the Billboard 200, eventually selling more than ten million copies in the US alone. A total of eight singles were released worldwide, with I Want You Back reaching the US Top 20 and Tearin’ Up My Heart reaching the UK Top 40.
The group’s second album No Strings Attached sold over one million copies in a day (ultimately becoming the biggest selling album of the 2000s) and produced three Top 5 singles: Bye Bye Bye, It’s Gonna Be Me and This I Promise You. This was followed by 2001’s Celebrity, which sold over ten million copies worldwide and spawned the hit singles Gone and Girlfriend. By the time ‘N Sync split in 2002 they had sold over 56 million records worldwide.
After the band separated, Justin Timberlake embarked on a solo career – releasing his first album Justified in 2002. It debuted at number one in the UK and number two in the US, eventually selling more than seven million copies worldwide, and produced the Top 20 hits Like I Love You, Cry Me a River and Rock Your Body.
This was followed by 2006’s FutureSex/LoveSounds, which sold over nine million copies and went straight to number one on the Billboard 200. It produced the chart-topping single SexyBack as well as the hits My Love, What Goes Around…/…Comes Around and Give It To Me.

The Prodigy are a British hardcore dance/electro band consisting of vocalist Keith Flint, MC Maxim Reality and DJ and multi-instrumentalist Liam Howlett.Formed in 1990, The Prodigy self-released a demo tape in February 1991. They sent this to a number of record companies and were soon signed to XL Recordings, who released a track from the demo call What Evil Lurks as the group’s first single. They immediately entered the studio to record new material and released their debut album Experience in September 1992. Containing the popular songs Charly, Out of Space and Fire, it reached number twelve in the UK Albums Chart and was soon certified platinum.
The group’s second album, Music for the Jilted Generation, followed in July 1994. It shot straight to number one in the UK, as well as charting inside the Billboard 200, and spawned the hit singles No Good (Start the Dance), Voodoo People and Poison. It has since been rated a classic album of the 1990s by the likes of Spin, NME and Mojo magazines.
However, the group’s first major international mainstream success was the 1997 album The Fat of the Land. Distributed by Maverick Records in America, it shot to number one on the Billboard 200 and was nominated for a Grammy Award, as well as for the prestigious Mercury Music Prize in 1997. It was also a number one hit in the UK, Canada, Australia and several other countries, and spawned the UK and international number one smash hits Firestarter and Breathe, as well as the UK Top 10 single Smack My Bitch Up.
Since the turn of the century The Prodigy have released a further two albums – 2004‘s Always Outnumbered Never Outgunned and 2009’s Invaders Must Die – and have scored hits with singles like Girls, Omen and Warrior’s Dance.

Kylie Minogue is an Australian pop/dance singer-songwriter and actress.Born 28th May 1968 in Melbourne, Minogue began her career as a child actor, starring in several Australian television productions before landing a starring role as Charlene Robinson in the megahit soap opera Neighbours. After an impromptu performance of the Little Eva song The Loco-Motion at a cast charity event, Minogue was signed to Mushroom Records.
She released her debut single Locomotion with Mushroom Records in Australia in 1987, where she scored a number one hit. It was later released and reached the Top 5 in both the UK and the US. This was followed by the Stock, Aitken & Waterman hit I Should Be So Lucky, which reached number one in Australia and the UK, and her debut album Kylie – 1988’s bestselling album with over 6.5 million sales worldwide. The singles Got to Be Certain and Je Ne Sais Pas Pourquoi also reached the Top 5 in the UK and Australia.
Minogue’s next album, 1989’s Enjoy Yourself, reached number one in the UK and spawned the number one hits Hand on Your Heart and Tears on My Pillow, as well as the Top 5 singles Wouldn’t Change a Thing and Never Too Late. This was followed by 1990’s Rhythm of Love, which produced four UK Top 10 singles: Better the Devil You Know, Step Back in Time, What Do I Have to Do? and Shocked.
Three more albums followed in the 1990s, producing Top 20 hits like Give Me Just a Little More Time, If You Were with Me Now, Confide in Me, Put Yourself in My Place, Did It Again and Breathe, but it was 2000’s Light Years that saw Minogue return to the top of the pop charts. Its lead single Spinning Around reached number one in the UK and Australia, while On a Night Like This and Kids (ft. Robbie Williams) both hit the Top 5.
2001’s Fever cemented Kylie’s position as ‘the princess of pop’, with the megahit single Can’t Get You Out of My Head reaching number one in over forty countries worldwide and the follow up singles In Your Eyes, Love at First Sight and Come Into My World all reaching the UK Top 10.
Since then, Minogue has released 2003’s Body Language, 2007’s X and 2010’s Aphrodite, scoring Top 20 hits with Slow, Red Blooded Woman, Chocolate, 2 Hearts, Wow, In My Arms and All the Lovers.

Cascada are an electronic pop/dance group from Bonn, Germany, consisting of lead vocalist Natalie Horler and producers DJ Yanou and DJ Manian.DJ Yanou first gained prominence after collaborating with DJ Sammy and vocalist Do on the 2002 UK number one hit Heaven - a dance cover of the Bryan Adams song. He met singer Natalie Horler, born on 23rd September 1981, and fellow DJ Manian soon afterwards and together they formed the group Cascade (the name was later changed for copyright reasons).
The group first achieved fame in 2006 with the single Everytime We Touch, which reached number two in the UK (and ultimately became the bestselling dance song of the year), as well as hitting number one on the US Billboard Dance chart. This was followed by their debut album of the same name which achieved platinum status in the UK and included the singles Truly Madly Deeply and Miracle.
The group followed this success with 2007’s Perfect Day, which was a collection of cover songs including Avril Lavigne’s Sk8er Boi, Pink’s Just like a Pill and Patti Smith’s Because the Night, and the group achieved a UK and European Top 10 hit with a cover of Mark Willis’ What Hurts the Most.
In 2009, the group released their most successful album to date – Evacuate the Dancefloor. The title single became the group’s first number one in the UK Singles Chart, as well as reaching the Top 5 in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland and New Zealand and being certified platinum in the US, while follow up hit singles Fever and Dangerous also performed well. The album subsequently become a bestseller around the world and earned a number of nominations at the International Dance Music Awards.
Horler recently revealed that the group is currently working on their fourth album, with a new single to be released later in 2010.
