Simple Plan is a French-Canadian pop punk group consisting of Pierre Bouvier on lead vocals, Jeff Stinco on lead guitar, Sébastien Lefebvre on rhythm guitar, David Desrosiers on bass guitar and Chuck Comeau on drums and percussion.

Formed in Montréal, Québec in 1999, the group released their debut album No Pads, No Helmets…Just Balls in November 2002. It was a surprisingly big success, reaching the Top 40 in both the US and Australia and selling over 2.5 million copies worldwide. The single Perfect was a Top 10 hit in both their native Canada and Australia, as well as reaching number 24 in the US, while the other singles I’m Just a Kid, I’d Do Anything and Addicted also performed well. This was followed by the single Don’t Wanna Think About You, which featured on the soundtrack to the 2004 film Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed.

However, it was the group’s second album that gave them major mainstream success. Still Not Getting Any… reached number two in the Canada, number three in the US and number six in Australia, selling millions of copies worldwide. The album gave the group their first Canadian number one hit – Welcome to My Life – as well as the Top 5 singles Untitled (How Could This Happen to Me?) and Crazy. The fourth single from the album, entitled Shut Up!, also reached number fourteen in Australian ARIA charts.

The group’s third (and latest) self-titled album was released in February 2008. Like its predecessor, it reached number two in the Canadian charts and gave the group their first UK Top 30 hit with When I’m Gone, as well as producing the Canadian Top 20 singles Your Love Is a Lie and Save You.

Simple Plan are currently recording their fourth studio album with legendary producer Brian Howes. It is set to be released sometime in early 2011.
